Gene “Brother” Mitchell Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gene “Brother” Mitchell Jr. on July 4, 2023. Born December 29, 1967, in Paris, Kentucky to the late Gene Mitchell, Sr. and Mary Gilley Mitchell, Brother brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. He thought the world of his sister and brother-in-law, Melinda and Bruce Moore and was a very special uncle to his nieces Nicki (Michael) Moore, Megan (Brandon) Pingleton and Ashley (Dusty) Moore as well as his great nieces and nephews Brailyn, Jettlyn, Briston, Colton, Gracelyn and Maverick.
Brother was best known for his contagious sense of humor and his ability to lighten up any room. With his quick wit and playful nature, he always had a joke ready or a funny story to share. Besides his infectious humor, Brother had a deep love for his family and friends. He cherished every moment spent with them and was always there to offer support and bring cheer. Brother had a heart of gold and would go above and beyond to help others, displaying his generous and selfless nature.
Honorable mentions of best friends: Crystal Mitchell, Jamie Mitchell, Michael Mitchell and Jimmy ‘Rooster’ Mitchell.
He loved fishing and being with his friends and family.
Gene’s laughter and loving spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew him. While we mourn the loss of this incredible person, we reflect on the joy he brought into our lives.
May his memory continue to bring smiles and laughter even amid our sorrow.
Services were at Lusk McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main Street, Paris Ky on Friday, July 7th 2023 at 7:00 pm by Pastor Krista Hampton. Visitation was from 5:00 pm until the time of service. The funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY.
