Larry Thomas “L.T.” Handy

Larry Thomas “L.T.” Handy, husband of Vicki Cavanaugh Handy, age 62, of Paris, Kentucky, departed this life on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center surrounded by his family.   L.T.  was born on March 30, 1961, in Maysville, Kentucky, to the late Hobart Thomas Handy and Lillie Belle Purcell Handy Allen, was a 1979 graduate of Fleming County High School, and retired from the City of Paris as the Senior Maintenance Director.    He was also the owner of Handy’s Home Improvements, and when not working, being around family was his everything.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Kenny Allen, and brother, Kenny Frank Handy.

Along with his wife Vicki, L.T. is survived by two daughters, Brittany Handy, and Jessica (David) Pergram; five grandchildren, Gabrielle Gardner, George Thomas Pergram, Sadie Gardner, Elanna Pergram, and Camilla Gardner.  Also surviving are his siblings, Kathy Handy Ginter (Rick Brown), Sharon (Billy) Elam, Debbie (Timmy) Roe, Carol Ann (Jackie) Overby, Robin (Randy) Fryman, Kenney (Donna) Allen Jr., Brenda Jones; a sister-in-law, Linda Handy; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; and one great great nephew.

The funeral service for L.T. Handy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday morning, August 4, 2023, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with Celebrant Sharon L. Berry officiating.    Interment will follow in Paris cemetery with casket bearers being Ricky Morgan, Eric Johnson, Todd Parsons, Jeremy Roe, Timmy Joe, and Billy Elam. Honorary bearers are Kenney Allen Jr., David Pergram, George Thomas Pergram, and Josh Stephens.  Visitation will be on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Hinton-Turner Funeral from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.   www.hintonturner.com
