James W. Brady

James W. Brady, age 93, widower of Addie Jane Alexander Brady, departed this life on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Bourbon Heights with his daughter by his side.  James was born in Paris, Kentucky on November 25, 1929, the son of the late James Robert Brady, graduate of Nicholas County High School, and a veteran of the United States Army, serving as a Corporal in the Korean War.  James was a member of First Methodist Church, former member of Paris Rotary Club, faithfully serving the community with twenty-four years of perfect attendance, a member of Paris Lodge #2, F&AM, Blue Lick Lodge #495 F&AM, Life Member of Kentucky Thoroughbred Farm Managers, the General Manager for several thoroughbred horse farms including Elmendorf Farm in Lexington, Kentucky for twenty-eight years, and owner of Bradyleigh Farm in Paris.   He was a very knowledgeable thoroughbred horseman and farmer, loving the land that surrounded him.  He loved his family dearly and enjoyed getting to spend time with them.  In addition to his father and wife, he was preceded in death by three children, Vicki Jane Brady, James Steven Brady, and William Edwin Brady. 

Surviving is a daughter, Stephanie Brady; five grandchildren, Jannica (Jordan) Baker, Megan Brady, Robert Brady, James E. Brady, and Laura Brady.    Also surviving are two half-brothers; two half-sisters; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Sue Tolle, Edna and Earl Stivers, George Luckey, Ron and Debbie McAnally; and many other close friends. 

The funeral service for James W. Brady will be at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, August 21, 2023, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Jerri Williams officiating.   Interment will follow in Carlisle Cemetery with casket bearers being Robert Brady, James E. Brady, Earl Stivers, George Luckey, Tim Thornton, Kenneth Littrell, and Gene Sibert.   Honorary bearers will be Edna Stivers, Gerry Duffy, Denzil Vanderpool, Jerome Harney, Miranda Wyles, and Sue Tolle.  Visitation will be on Sunday, August 20, 2023, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with Masonic Rites at 7:30 p.m. at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home.   www.hintonturner.com
