Samuel “Sam” Neil Morton
Samuel “Sam” Neil Morton, 55, husband of Charlotte Burke Fister Morton, died Saturday September 23, 2023, at the Bourbon Community Hospital, Paris, KY.
He was born in Hardinsburg, KY to Dorothy Jean Shartzer Morton and the late James Godfrey Morton. Sam was a computer program analyst with Creative Computer Solutions, Lexington, KY. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, hunting, dabbling with electronics, shooting pool, and watching NASCAR. Sam and Charlotte often sat on their back porch in the mornings drinking their coffee and watching the wildlife. Sam was a member of the Catholic Church of the Annunciation and the Knights of Columbus. His greatest joy was spending precious time with his family and playing with his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Burke Fister Morton; mother, Dorothy Jean Shartzer Morton; three children, James-Patrick Neil (Hannah) Morton, Graceanne Mahlon (Austin) Curran and SusanJean Burke Morton; four grandchildren, Samuel Godfrey Morton, James Jackson Morton, Irwin Parrish Curran and Elizabeth Burke Morton; one sister, Donna Leigh (Christopher) Logsdon and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:00 AM Thursday September 28, 2023, at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation, 1007 Main St., Paris, KY by Father Danny Fister. Burial to follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Paris, KY
Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Wednesday September 27, 2023, at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation with a Rosary service at 7:30 PM.
Pallbearers will be James-Patrick Morton, Michael Frye, Christopher Logsdon, Jeff Smith, Matthew Fister, Luke Fister, Brian Brown and Joe Sandfort.
Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Ray Frye, John Fister, Jonathan Fister, Caleb Fister, Austin Curran, Daniel True and all the Brothers of the Knights of Columbus.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Knights of Columbus.
