Marian Anderson Emerson
Marian Anderson Emerson, 77, died Thursday, September 21, 2023, at her home in Paris, KY.
Born in Paris, KY, she was the daughter of the late William Emerson and Mary O’Rear Emerson. She loved Horseracing, playing Bingo, she worked at the southwest Redrive Tobacco Company and was a member at First Baptist where she also served as an usher for many years.
She is survived by one grandson, James Eric Emerson Jr.; five nephews, Edward Emerson, William Russell Emerson, Kenneth Happy Jr., Stanley Vincent Jackson, and Todd Lamont Jackson; four nieces, Kaila Emerson Curry, Kamille Happy, Summer Emerson Burns and Kendra Jackson; Special great-nieces and nephews, Brookie Emerson Mosley, Ryan Jacobs, Cameron Jacobs, Jocellyn Jacobs, ZyOndria Jacobs, Charysia Jacobs, Wendell Curry Jr., Samantha Robbins, Amelia Robbins, Shayla Happy, Austin Happy, Vincent Jackson Jr., Ciarra Jackson, Kabrina Jackson, Marcus Jackson; the Emerson-Burns girls, Nia Stokes, Layla Emerson, Jayla Emerson, Brianna Emerson, Kayden Byrd; a host of great-great nieces and nephews; special cousins, Mccllelle Gains, Juanita Jackson and Stephanie Bishop; special friends, Weida Allen, Jamie Johnson, the big G (Gano Street) crew, the Penny’s, the Allen’s, the Harrises, the Rankins, the Woodfords, the Williams, the Crooks and Ms. Charlesetta the neighborhood decorator.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, James Eric Emerson; two sisters, Charlene Weathers, Doris Happy; three brothers; Milton Emerson, Ronnie Emerson and William Emerson Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main Street., Paris, KY by Rev. John Reese. Burial will be at Evergreen Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Saturday, September 30, 2023, at the funeral home.
