Larry Michael Vickers, a man of generous spirit and infectious humor, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024, in Lexington, KY, at the age of 56. Born on October 30, 1967, in Paris, KY, Larry’s life was a testament to the joy and love he brought to everyone around him.
Larry’s devotion to his family was unparalleled. He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Vickers; his cherished mother, Linda Hopkins Vickers; his three proud sons, Justin (Lindsey) McCarty, Jessie (Alexis) McCarty, and Jon Michael (Sarah) McCarty; and his caring sister, Robin (Chris) Fulton and mother in law, Susan Eades (Ma-Law). Larry’s legacy continues through his adored grandchildren, Carrick, Laira, Kaden, Wyatt, Alara, Noah, Kyrie, Gabrielle, Jessica, Destiny, Bridgette, Liam, Iszabella, Xenia, Alexazier, Serenity, Trixie, Kain, and Phoenix. He will also be fondly remembered by his nephew, Wesley Fulton, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Vickers; his brother, Harrison Vickers; and his grandmother, Helen Himes.
An avid sports enthusiast, Larry’s passion for the Minnesota Vikings, University of Kentucky football and basketball, and golf were well known.
Larry’s life was marked by his generosity and humor, which he shared freely with all who knew him. His laughter and love of life will be remembered by all as a bright light that shone even in the darkest of times. Larry Michael Vickers will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 PM Tuesday October 15, 2024, at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home Chapel, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY. Visitation will be at 5:00 PM until the hour of service at the funeral home.
