Kimberly Sue Huff

Kimberly Sue Huff, widow of Fred Norton, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2024, at the age of 66, in Lexington, KY. Born on October 29, 1958, in Covington, KY, Kimberly’s life was a testament to the power of caring and devotion to family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.

Kimberly’s journey began as the cherished daughter of Wayne D. Vastine and Doris Jean Freeman Vastine. Her formative years in Kentucky were filled with the warmth of a large and loving family, including her four brothers, Ronnie Huff, Tommy (Eileen) Huff, Darrell (Thelma) Vastine and Jeremy Vastine; two sisters, Debbie (Charlie “Squid”) Smith and Bonnie Atkins; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Billy Howard.

HeI’m r role as a mother was Kimberly’s greatest joy. She is survived by her adoring daughter and son-in-law, Minnie Jean and Jose Figueroa, and her beloved son, Brandon Barton. Kimberly’s legacy continued to flourish through her three grandchildren, Jonathan (Danielle) Creamer, Brooklyn Figueroa, and Logan Figueroa, and her five great-grandchildren, Christopher Jenkins, Hailee Figueroa, Jeremiah Crank, Jeffery Crank, and Harley Howard. Each of them was a precious gem in the treasure trove of her heart.

Professionally, Kimberly was a self-employed caregiver, a vocation that perfectly suited her innate ability to nurture and support others. Her work was not just a job; it was a calling. She poured her heart into caring for those in need, often going above and beyond to ensure their comfort and happiness.

Kimberly’s interests were a reflection of her generous spirit. She had a passion for decorating her home for the holidays, creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere for all who entered. Her love for cooking was another way she expressed her care, often preparing delicious meals that brought people together. Above all, Kimberly had a heart of a servant, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her strong faith was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life’s challenges and inspiring those around her. It was this faith that shone brightly in her actions and in the love she so freely gave. Those who knew Kimberly would describe her as loving, thoughtful, and selfless. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel valued and important. Her presence was a source of comfort and strength, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her. As we remember Kimberly, we are reminded of the words of Mother Teresa, “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” Kimberly embodied this sentiment, living a life rich in small acts of kindness that together created an extraordinary legacy of love.

Kimberly Sue Huff’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of compassion, generosity, and unwavering love. As we bid her farewell, we take solace in knowing that her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. Her memory will be cherished, her lessons remembered, and her love will continue to ripple through the lives of those she touched. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Kimberly Sue Huff will be deeply missed, but the warmth of her love will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. May she rest in peace, knowing that her life was a gift to us all.
