Harry Leonard Henry,
Harry Leonard Henry, a cherished family member, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025, in Lexington, KY, at the age of 79. Born on January 18, 1946, in Maysville, KY, Harry’s life was marked by his unwavering kindness, infectious humor, and a deep interest in the world around him.
Harry’s journey began as the beloved son of Emmett Preston Henry and Anna May Thompson Henry, who preceded him in death. His life was a tapestry of close-knit family ties, including his devoted daughter, Sarah (Jeff) McFarland; his adored grandson, Wesley (Jamie) McFarland; and his treasured great-grandsons, Weston and Owen McFarland. Harry also leaves behind a legacy of love with his brother, T.P. Henry; his sisters, Janie Smith, Rosie Cunningham, and Susie (Charlie) Wohlwinder; and his dear friend, Doris Morris, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was also preceded in death by his niece, Greta Wohlwinder True, and his nephew, Eric Henry.
For six decades, Harry proudly navigated the highways as an over-the-road trucker, a career that showcased his dedication and work ethic. His faith was evident through his attendance at the Assembly of God in Carlisle, KY. Harry’s passion for life was further exemplified by his love for University of Kentucky Basketball and Football, his enjoyment of bluegrass and old country music, and the joy he found in the company of his family especially his great-grandsons.
Harry will be remembered as a man who was not only funny and kind but also endlessly interesting. His stories, laughter, and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Harry’s memory will continue to inspire and bring smiles to the faces of those he touched.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday March 7, 2025, at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home Chapel, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY by Rev. Dr. Stephanie Moon and Rev. Jerry Eubanks. Burial will follow in the Carlisle Cemetery, Carlisle, KY.
Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Thursday March 6, 2025, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Wesley McFarland, Weston McFarland, Owen McFarland, Brad Henry, Emmett Smith and Darrell Boone.
