Roberta Mae Wagner Booth Smithers
Roberta Mae Wagner Booth Smithers, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025, at the age of 61 in her hometown of Paris, KY. Born on February 25, 1964, to the late Robert Ormes and Dora Mae Wagner Coffey, Roberta’s life was a testament to the power of family bonds.
Roberta’s childhood in Paris sowed the seeds of her lifelong love for gardening, a passion that flourished alongside her own family. She is survived by a loving husband, Mike Smithers, and their cherished children, Natasha Osejo, Henry Booth, Jr., and Melissa Booth. Her legacy continues through her six beloved grandchildren, Michael Sanchez Booth, Methias Jiminez Booth, Vincent Osejo, Isabella Mae Booth, Seth Booth, and Andrew Beasley, as well as her adoration lives on in her five great grandchildren, Noah Earlywine, T.J. Kenney, Amelia Sanchez Booth, Marcelo Sanchez Booth, and Liam Osejo.
Her siblings shared in her journey – a journey of laughter, support, and enduring memories. She leaves behind a dear brother, Patrick Wagner, and three sisters, Tammy Carpenter, Judy (Larry) Barrett, and Lisa (William) Abney, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who found in her a steadfast source of kindness. The heavens have welcomed those who went before her: her parents, a brother Woodrow Carpenter, mother-in-law Nancy Aubrey, and sister-in-law Annette Wagner.
Roberta’s life was one of warm-hearted dedication to her family, a commitment reflected in her role as a homemaker, nurturing a home filled with love and open arms. Her interests weren’t limited to her beautiful gardens, as she also found joy in the buzz of poker machines and the excitement of dog races. Above all, she loved her family intensely and had a special place in her heart for animals.
Known for her friendliness, generosity, and selflessness, Roberta’s spirit encouraged those around her with a sense of welcome and comfort. Her absence leaves a void in her family, but her influence remains as enduring as the perennials in her garden, blooming year after year in the hearts of all who knew her.
