Charles Newton Dailey
Charles Newton Dailey, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, completed his earthly journey on April 9, 2025, in Lexington, Kentucky. Born on April 15, 1948, in Cynthiana, Kentucky, to the late Warren Clay and Ada Mae Cook Dailey, Charles’s early years were rooted in the values of family and hard work, which he carried throughout his life.
His journey through life was marked by steadfast dedication to his loved ones and the land he so dearly cherished. A proud graduate of Bourbon County High School’s class of 1967, Charles embraced the calling of a lifelong farmer with both hands, finding profound joy in the simplicity and toil of the land. His commitment to his community was unwavering, as he served as a member of the Indian Creek Christian Church and honored his country as a veteran of the US Army Reserve.
Charles’s life was a testament to the values he held dear: kindness, generosity, and selflessness. With his beloved wife of many years, Mary Christie Spooner Dailey, at his side, he cultivated a family life rich in love and tradition. Together, they raised two sons, Shane (Jami) Dailey and Justin Dailey, and rejoiced in the laughter of their five grandchildren, Alyssa, Alexa, Tate (Kara) Sullivan, Blake, and Porter, some inherited his passion for agriculture and the joys of raising and showing cattle and sheep.
Charles is celebrated in memories by his brother, Greg (Debbie) Dailey, and sister, Sandy (Joe) McClure, alongside numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins for his enduring warmth and genuine spirit. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth Dailey.
His love for old westerns, the melodies of country music, and, above all, the treasured moments with his family, are the legacy he leaves behind—a legacy as enduring as the earth he so tenderly cared for. Charles Newton Dailey will be deeply missed yet forever remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing this remarkable man.
