Matthew Rankin McConnell
December 21, 1978 – September 11, 2025 – Matthew Rankin McConnell, age 46, of Paris, Kentucky died September 11, 2025. He was born on December 21, 1978, to Sheila Brannock McConnell and the late William T. McConnell, Jr.
Matthew was an intelligent and skilled tradesman as a Master Electrician and Master HVAC Contractor, talented with his hands and mind always ready to solve a challenging project. His creativity and precision shown during his childhood while building elaborate Lego cities carried over into his work and hobbies as an adult. From setting up an impromptu lemonade stand on hot summer baseball park days to commandeering a school business class “candy bar sales” project to attending trade school while still in high school; he exhibited his knack for seizing an opportunity. His lesser-known artistic abilities were displayed in his powerful writings and colorful paintings. Most of his life was accompanied by his loving dogs (Ranger, Diesel) and cats (MJ and Matilda). Matthew lived an adventurous life with an individualistic spirit. Yet he showed deep, thoughtful moments, caring about the people around him in quiet but meaningful ways.

McConnell; grandparents, Keller Rankin Brannock and Doris Jean “Toadie” Brannock; grandfather, Bill McConnell, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Amy Robinson McConnell; Mother, Sheila Brannock McConnell; Brother, William Scott (Alexandra) McConnell; Brother, Todd Carson (Heather) McConnell.
