James Bradley “Brad” Logan

James Bradley “Brad” Logan of Paris, widower of Penelope “Penny” Schoen Logan, departed this life on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Harrison Memorial Hospital, having attained the age of 87 years. Brad was born in Carlisle, Kentucky on June 06, 1938, the son of the late Aaron Paul and Katherine Marie Ward Logan, was a graduate of Bourbon County High School as well as the University of Kentucky and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He owned and operated his own successful real estate appraisal business for nearly 30 years after having a previous 30- year career with IBM as a Staff Engineer where his sharp mathematical mind was recognized and awarded for new product innovations. He loved the game of golf, played throughout much of his life, and for many years organized his own invitational golf tournament. He also enjoyed horse racing, especially the Oaks & KY Derby. He was a skilled gardener, a very good cook, and voracious reader. More recently, Brad became a member of the Paris Christian Church after moving back to Paris last year. His family and many friends were so dear to him – he cherished them all and loved to tell funny stories about them from the past. In addition to his parents and wife, Brad was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn McCann.
Surviving is a daughter, Mary King (David) Minko; a son, James Bradley “Jim” Logan, Jr.; the mother of his children, and former wife, Patty Page Layson.
A memorial gathering and Celebration of Life service for James Bradley “Brad” Logan will be held at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with service at 12:30 p.m., officiated by Celebrant Sharon L. Berry.
