Robert Elwood Atchison

Robert Elwood Atchison, age 90, of Paris, departed this life on Monday, November 3, 2025, at the Veteran’s Administration on Leestown Road in Lexington, Kentucky. Robert was born in Paris, KY on June 13, 1935, the son of the late Robert Fielding and Frances Case Atchison, was a Bourbon County High School graduate as well as having attended the University of Kentucky, a veteran of the United States Navy, and was a retired planning analyst, having worked many years for IBM. He was a member of the Catholic Church of the Annunciation, a patron member of the N.R.A. and a Kentucky Colonel. In addition to his parents and wife, Alice Langfels Atchison, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Pat Atchison, as well as brothers-in-law, Bobby Walls and Ken Caudell.
Surviving are his children, Doug (Angie) Atchison, Julia (Paul) Thompson, Rick (Traci) Atchison, Clay (Angela) Atchison, Greg (Misty) Atchison; seventeen grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Also surviving are his two sisters, Carolyn Walls, Marilyn Caudell, and his brother, Billy Atchison.
The visitation for Robert Elwood Atchison will be on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Catholic Church of Annunciation in Paris, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time for the Mass of Christian Burial, which will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jeffrey Estacio officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the Mount Olivet Cemetery with casket bearers being his grandsons, Joshua Thompson, Jacob Thompson, Seth Thompson, Nicholas Atchison, Ben Atchison, Luke Atchison, Caden Atchison, Alex Atchison, Chris Wells, Cameron Barker, and Jalen Barker. Honorary bearers are Kendall Atchison, Jordan Atchison, Reagan Atchison, Brooke Thompson, Lindsey Thompson, Rileigh Barker, Walker Thompson, Braxton Thompson, Maverick Thompson, Dakota Thompson, Marvin Atchison, Bill Langfels, Mike Langfels, John Langfels, Harold Young, Bill Smart and the rest of the Lunch Bunch Gang.
