Sylvia Lynn “Sissy” Mann

Sylvia Lynn “Sissy” Mann, 73, beloved wife of Lamar Mann for 47 years, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at her home, surrounded by family. Born August 21, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Earn “Jake” and Christine Garrett.
A 1970 graduate of Nicholas County High School, Sylvia retired as a supervisor from Jockey International and later as a CMA from Licking Valley Internal Medicine & Pediatrics. She never met a stranger and was the life of every gathering—quick with a laugh, overflowing with love, and happiest when caring for others. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Ann Thomas and Bessie Jennings; three brothers, Norval Allen Garrett, Junior Garrett, and Paul “Fats” Garrett; and two nieces, Karen Ann Garrett and Mona (Mark) Vice.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 47 years, Lamar Mann; her son, Allen Lynn Creech; her stepson, Donald (Tammy) Mann; and two grandchildren she adored, Garrett Andrew Creech and Mallory Creech (Dawson) Miller. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Amy Hill Creech; brothers George (Becky) Garrett and Dick (Damonica) Garrett; nieces and nephews Clif (Julie) Garrett, Brandon (Harper) Garrett, Jake (Beth) Garrett, Taylor (Madison) Garrett, Paul Keith (Kelly) Holland, Norval (Becky) Garrett, Hannah (Andy) McCarty, Pam (Matt) Jury, Angie (Rick) Brown, Pam (Bobby) Dryden, Paul Garrett, LeeAnn (Michael) Hennigan, David Purcell, Given (Shelly) Jennings, Tammy (Keith) Smith; and many extended family members and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11 am on Saturday November 8, 2025, at Carlisle-Clark Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Smith and Dr. Stephen Beeson officiating with burial following in the Carlisle Cemetery. Visitation was Friday 5 – 8 pm.
Honorary pallbearers: Clif Garrett, Jake Garrett, Brandon Garrett, Taylor Garrett, Paul Holland, Wes Shrout and Donald Mann.
Pallbearers: Al Warner, Given Jennings, Dawson Miller, Tim Hildebrandt, Jeffrey Randolph, and John Michael Reitz. Carlisle-Clark Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
