Homer Michael “Mike” Freeny Jr

Homer Michael “Mike” Freeny Jr., 88, passed away peacefully at home on November 07, 2025, in Paris, Kentucky. Born on November 10, 1937, in Caddo, Oklahoma, Mike led a life defined by determination and vision.
He began his education at Caddo Elementary and graduated from Caddo High School before attending Oklahoma State University. As a young boy delivering newspapers in his hometown, Mike developed the discipline that would shape his future.
At 20 years old he moved to California. He worked in the oilfields with his brothers and eventually started his own business Chemex. Building a successful business that spanned industries and borders. His work on setting up gas plants in third world markets showcased his ability to identify innovations and apply them to benefit communities around the world. Known for his foresight and mentorship, Mike supported many colleagues and friends throughout his professional journey.
Mike also pursued a lifelong passion for thoroughbred horses. That dream culminated in the success of Dream Tree, an Oaks Winner who brought him great pride. Over the years, he bred numerous successful racehorses, leaving a lasting legacy in the equestrian world.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia Freeny; father, Homer Michael Freeny Sr.; mother, Maggie Freeny; brothers, Keotah Freeny and Robert Bob Freeny; and sister, Ida Lee Freeny.
He is remembered with love by his son, Homer Michael Freeny III and wife Clorisa Freeny; granddaughter, Arianna and husband Adrian Orozco; daughter, Tracee Freeny Davidson; granddaughter, Kashawndra Davidson; grandson, Blayne Davidson; daughter, Stacee Freeny Sanderson; grandsons, David and Blake Sanderson; daughter, Aimee Brummer; Clay and Ange Freeny; Johnny and Glenda Freeny; Stuart and Kris Freeny; dog, Kye Freeny; along with numerous other family members and special friends he cherished deeply.
A memorial gathering was held on December 10, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at First Presbyterian Church, 208 Buffalo St. Caddo, Ok followed by lunch.
A second Memorial Service will take place on December 13, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at First Presbyterian Church, 517 Pleasant St. Paris, Kentucky with lunch being served at the Oasis, 610 Main St. Paris, KY.
