Robert Edward “Bob” Duffy, III
Robert Edward “Bob” Duffy, III, age 80, widower of Mary Elizabeth Fister Duffy, departed this life at his home in Paris, Kentucky on Friday, January 16, 2026. Bob was born in Floyd County, Kentucky on November 30, 1945, the son of the late Robert E. and Blanche Helton Duffy, Jr. had received his associates degree in Police Administration from Eastern Kentucky University, and served his country in the United States Marines. He had retired as both a Kentucky State Police Detective and a Kentucky Attorney General Detective yet was currently employed by the Bourbon County Sheriff’s department. Bob was a member of the Marine Corps League, Knights of Columbus, Disabled American Veterans, Holy Name Society, Bourbon Street Cruisers, and Fraternal Order of Police. When not working, you would find him fishing, hunting for bargains, or his favorite, spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Duffy, and a sister, Denise Sheets.
Surviving are two sons, Robert (Lori) Duffy IV, Michael (Sheri) Duffy; grandchildren Quentin Duffy and Gage Duffy; and special family member Cynthia Swiney Duffy.
The Mass of Christian Burial was at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation in Paris, Kentucky officiated by Rev. Jeffrey Estacio. Interment followed in Mount Olivet cemetery with the State Police Honor Guard serving as casket bearers. Honorary bearers were Bill Hayes, Butch Randolph, Gary Wilson, Raymond Kitchen, Steve Roy, Terry McClure, Tim Adams, and members of both the Bourbon County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police.
