Pollie Gibson Stamper

Pollie Gibson Stamper, a beacon of kindness and age-old traditions, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, at the venerable age of 95 in Lexington, KY. Born on February 8, 1931, in the town of Hindman, KY, Pollie was the much-loved matriarch of a large and cherished family.
Pollie was predeceased by her loving husband, Dennis Stamper, her parents, James and Ida Collins Gibson, her son Dennis Stamper, Jr., her grandson Aaron Stamper, her dear great-granddaughter Savannah Smith, her sisters Belle, Lava, Viola, and Octavia, as well as her brothers Roosevelt, Amos, Ken, Harlan, Billy, and Mallie. These departures were deeply felt as Pollie held her family members dearly in her heart.
She is survived and will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Wilma (Walter) Bailey, Joseph (Debbie) Stamper, and Maida Ball. The legacy Pollie leaves includes her beloved eight grandchildren, Pollie, Tammy, Stephinie, Michelle, Stacy, Kristi, Jonathan, and Kalib, as well as her cherished eight great-grandchildren. Her family circle also warmly encompasses her stepdaughter, Judy (Paul) Puckett, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pollie lived a fulfilling life as a devoted homemaker with a rare talent for handcrafting beauty in everyday life. She was a dedicated member of the Old Regular Baptist Church, a testament to her unwavering faith. Her hands were rarely still, and her involvement in the Quilting Club allowed her to create intricate works that warmed the lives of many.
Outside the church and her home, Pollie found relaxation in being an avid quilter, lovingly piecing together fabrics and memories. She equally enjoyed fishing, a testament to her patience and appreciation for nature, and she never passed up the opportunity to find treasures at local yard sales.
Described by all who knew her as thoughtful and kind, Pollie’s benevolent spirit touched many lives. Those who knew her will remember her gentle smile, the warm embrace of her voice, and her selfless acts of compassion.
Pollie Gibson Stamper’s life was a tapestry of love, faith, and quiet strength. As her family and friends bid her a fond farewell, they hold dear the memories of a life richly lived and generously shared. Her presence will forever be missed, yet her essence will continue to comfort and inspire all those who were fortunate enough to feel the warmth of her loving heart.
Funeral services were conducted at 12:00 PM Tuesday February 24, 2026, at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home Chapel, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY by Bro. Hurley Short. Burial followed in the Evergreen Memory Gardens, Paris, KY.
Visitation was from 5-8 PM Monday February 23, 2026, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Jonathan Ball, Kalib Ball, Kenny Gibson, Junior Smith, Ryan Rawls and B.J. Buckler. Honorary pallbearers were Chris Leigh, Alvin Stamper, Brian Florence and Sonny Gibson.
