Wanda Mae (Jackson) Anderson
Wanda Mae (Jackson) Anderson peacefully transitioned at her home on February 26, 2026, at the age of 86.
She was born in Paris, Kentucky on January 30, 1940 to the late Robert Clay and Georgia May (Random) Jackson. At the age of 5, Georgia May passes and Ardthare Willis became the mother of her children.
She married Robert Clay Jackson, gave birth to four more children, and was mother of 8. Later in life she married James Robinson (Mr. Jimmy), who became the Step-Father of her eight children and Grandfather/Great-Grandfather of many.
She was a member of North Middletown Christian Church (DOC) after moving to Dayton, Ohio as a young adult. She served as a Deaconess and held a variety of positions in the state and local (CWF) Christian Women’s Fellowship Gospel Choir, Church Trustee, Historian, Asst. Chairwoman of the Benevolence Committee. She was also a member of the Eastern Star where she served in many offices and served as the Worthy Matron of the Pennella Tubbs Chapter for seventeen years, which she established. Wanda was a proud graduate of Western High School in Paris, Kentucky. She attended Jarvis Christian College, and Sinclair Community College completing her Nursing academics. Wanda retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base after 32 1/2 years of federal service. She was a member of the Anderson Family Circle Club and Social Club the Friendly Boys, and Co-Owner of Al’s Car Brite Car Wash. She married Alfred Clay (Poochie) Anderson on May 7, 1982.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, daughter Savatria, husband Alfred, five brothers (Erastus, Robert (Bud), George, Roland (Ray), and Stanley). Two granddaughters; Ivory and Mia.
Wanda leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Rev. Dr. Willie Barnes-Jackson (Rev. Dr. Pamela) and William Brooks Jr. (Dione); special nieces cherished as daughters, Ina and Coett; grandchildren: William, Pattie, Breyanna, Tiffany (Fred), Allen, Zarrion, Isiah, Darnika; eighteen great grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; four sisters: Brenda Ricks, Ardthare Rucker, Mary Jackson, and Roberta Hutsell (Herman); and three brothers: Clarence Jackson, Craig Summers, and Neil Jackson (Leslie); special in-laws: Lucy Jackson, Ola Anderson, and Rose Anderson; special and dear friend: Min. Harold Johson; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
Service was held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Summit Christian Church, 4021 Denlinger Road, Dayton, Ohio 45426, with Pastor Michelle L. Dixon officiating. Repast immediately following the service in the church’s fellowship hall.
The pallbearers were William Barnes-Jackson, Daylyn Barnes-Jackson, Cassious Carter, Jadon Furlow, Romeo Rucker, John Peoples, Jr., Luis Ruiz Aaron, and Jackson Harrison.
The honorary pallbearers were Rev. Dr. Willie Barnes-Jackson, Lafayette Jackson, George Jackson, Daryl Jackson, Clarence Jackson, and Douglas Thomas.
The family of Wanda Mae Anderson wishes to thank all of their many friends and family for all expressions of sympathy, visits, thoughts, and most of all your prayers expressed to them in their hour of bereavement.
