Randy Alan Thwaites
Randy Alan Thwaites, age 71, of Paris, Kentucky, passed away on May 1, 2026. He was born on June 24, 1954, in Springfield, Ohio, and lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a generous spirit that touched all who knew him.
Randy was the beloved husband of Donna Anne Tubbs Thwaites for 43 years. Together, they built a life centered on love, loyalty, and family. He was a proud father to Julia Alan Thwaites and Christopher Warwick Thwaites, and he found great joy in being a grandfather to Lincoln Christopher Thwaites, Coleson Alan Thwaites, Wiley Warwick Thwaites, and Catesby Lane Thwaites. His family was the center of his world, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
He is also survived by his stepmother, Mary Jane Thwaites; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Anderson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember him with affection. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Earle Thwaites and Janet Evelsizor Thwaites, and by his sister, Deborah Provencher. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.
Randy earned his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University, an accomplishment that reflected his determination and commitment to building a meaningful future. He went on to establish himself as a general contractor and entrepreneur, careers that suited his practical nature and strong work ethic. He was known as a man who could fix what needed fixing and who approached challenges with skill, patience, and confidence. Handy and generous, he earned the respect of those who worked alongside him and the gratitude of those he helped along the way.
Beyond his work, Randy enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life rich. He loved music, especially playing the guitar and listening to the Beatles. He also enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family, moments that brought him happiness and peace. Whether he was sharing a song, a round of golf, or a conversation with loved ones, Randy had a way of making those around him feel welcome and valued.
Randy will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a man of quiet strength and kindness. His presence brought comfort, his hands were always ready to help, and his heart was always open to others. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the work he completed, and the many lives he touched with his generosity and care.
A Celebration of Life was held at 7:00 PM Wednesday May 6, 2026, by Rev. Kevin Strausbaugh at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home Chapel, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY. Visitation was from 5:00 PM until the hour of service at the funeral home.
