Elizabeth Elaine Dray Burberry
Elizabeth Elaine Dray Burberry, known lovingly as Elaine was born on May 3, 1984, in Cynthiana, Kentucky, and passed away on June 19, 2026, in Paris, Kentucky.
Elaine was a kind, courageous, and selfless woman whose life was centered on the people she loved most. She was a devoted wife to Wesley “Wes” Matthew Burberry and a loving mother to Codey Burberry, Hayli Burberry, and Brantley Burberry. Her children were truly the light of her life, and she found great joy in being present for them, taking them to their sports, and sharing in the activities they loved. Her love for her family was steady, generous, and unconditional, and she will be remembered for the warmth and devotion she gave so freely.
Elaine was the beloved daughter of Mildred Dray and was deeply cherished by her family. She is also survived by her sister, Crystal Pelley; her aunts, Eula Willoughby and her husband Joe, and Geneva Kelly and her husband Richard; her father-in-law, Cliff Burberry and his wife Debbie; her mother-in-law, Kathy Smith Burberry; her grandfather-in-law, George Thomas Burberry; her sisters-in-law, Andrea Kendall, Julia Thompson and her husband Jason, and Allison Dampier and her husband Mike; her brothers-in-law, Clifton Burberry and his wife Stacie, and Thomas Burberry; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly. Elaine’s presence brought comfort and strength to those around her, and her memory will remain a treasured part of her family’s lives. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Steve Pelley.
Elaine obtained her Registered Nurse degree and dedicated her career to caring for others as a Registered Nurse at Saint Joseph-East in Lexington, Kentucky. Her work reflected the same compassion and selflessness that guided her life outside of her profession. She served others with patience, skill, and a gentle spirit, and those who worked with her knew her as someone they could depend on. Her commitment to nursing was a meaningful expression of her desire to help and heal.
A Christian by faith, Elaine attended the High Street Church of Christ in Paris, Kentucky, where she found fellowship and spiritual encouragement. Her faith was an important part of her life and provided strength throughout her journey. She lived with grace and humility, and her example touched many lives in quiet but lasting ways.
Elaine will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to her family, and the many ways she made life brighter for those around her. Her legacy lives on in the lives of her children, her husband, her mother, and all who were blessed to know her. Though her time on earth was far too brief, the love she gave and the goodness she shared will endure in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
