Sudie May Fryman Sanders
Sudie May Fryman Sanders, 94, widow of the late Raymond Sanders, passed away on June 17, 2026, at the University of Kentucky Hospital. She was born on January 21, 1932, in Harrison County, to the late Jacob W. and Flodie Fryman.
Sudie was a longtime member of the Lair Methodist Church in Harrison County, where she played the piano for 60+ years. She also sang in their choir. For many years she helped work on the farm setting tobacco. Sudie did work at Hansley Mills for a short time as well. Sudie will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Sudie is survived by a son, Jerry Gayle Sanders; and a daughter-in-law, Diana Sanders. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by a son, Jackie Glenn Sanders; granddaughter, Lisa Lynn Sanders; brothers, William Todd Fryman, Albert Otis Fryman, John M. Fryman, James T. Fryman, Elmer J. Fryman; sisters, Alberta Franklin, Heelen Nichols, and Margaret Ritchie.
A service for Sudie was held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Ware Funeral Home. Visitation was held just prior to the service beginning at 10:00 A.M. Bro. Wayne Tolson led services for the Sanders family, and burial followed at Battle Grove Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Rick Mattox, Ray Young, Jeff Fryman, Michael Ritchie, Ronnie Franklin, and Russell Sanders.
