Barbara Lee Lavarack Menker

Barbara Lee Lavarack Menker, age 87, of Paris, Kentucky, passed away on June 21, 2026. She was born on November 21, 1938, in Cleveland, Ohio, and lived a life marked by devotion to her family, her work, and the things she loved most.

Barbara was a woman of quiet strength, kindness, and steady presence. She carried herself with grace and warmth, and those who knew her will remember her for the love she gave so freely and the care she showed to others. Her life was centered on family, and she found great joy in spending time with those she loved. Whether gathered around the table, sharing stories, or simply enjoying one another’s company, Barbara treasured those moments deeply.

Throughout her working years, Barbara was employed at Kettering Hospital, where she served in the business office. She was known for her dependability, professionalism, and willingness to help wherever needed. Her work reflected her strong sense of responsibility and her commitment to doing things well. In addition to her work at the hospital, she also served as the show secretary for quarter horse shows, a role that suited her love of horses and her appreciation for the people and traditions connected to them.

Barbara had a lifelong affection for horses, and that interest remained an important part of her life. She also cherished family time above all else. Her happiest moments were often those spent with loved ones, where she could enjoy the simple pleasures of being together and sharing in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest source of pride, and she was deeply devoted to each of them.

She is survived by her four children, Bobby Menker and his wife Peggy of Georgetown, Kentucky, Bradley Menker and his wife Judy of Markleville, Indiana, Beckey Schooler and her husband Todd Yoder of Adrian, Michigan, and Beverly Dietrich and her husband Scott of Greenville, Indiana. She is also survived by her sister, Pat Teplitz of Kihei, Hawaii, her brother, James Lavarack of Lexington, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Rose McCarty, Samantha Menker, Austin (Lainey) Menker, Adam Menker, Anna Miller (Tatum), Jessy Menker, Casey Menker and Ty (Kyle) Dougherty; two nieces and three great-grandchildren. Her family will carry forward the love, strength, and example she gave them throughout her life.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, James and Anna Lavarack, as well as her grandchildren, Jordan Lee Menker and Wyatt Allen Menker. Though she experienced loss in her lifetime, she remained steadfast and loving, continuing to care for those around her with a generous heart.

Barbara Lee Menker will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured, the work she performed with dedication, and the many memories she created through a life well lived. She leaves behind a lasting example of loyalty, kindness, and devotion that will continue to be cherished for generations to come.
