Betty Jean Kemper

Betty Jean Kemper, age 95, widow of James Paul Kemper, died Thursday, July 9, 2026 at Cedar Ridge Health Campus in Cynthiana. She was born February 1, 1931 in Frankfort, Kentucky, daughter of the late Jack and Hazel Morris Long. Betty was a graduate of Louisville Baptist School of Nursing and was a retired Registered Nurse at Central Baptist Hospital.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathy (Tony) Meyer; grandchildren, John Meyer, Sarah Meyer (Will Cox); great granddaughter, Isabella Meyer; several nieces and nephews; and will be greatly missed by her four legged friend, Lucky. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Catherine Williams, Helen Williams, and Ivaline Long.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home. There will be a private family burial on Friday in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North.
