John Clines
John Clines, age 78, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at his home in Cynthiana, KY. He was born in Paris, Kentucky, on May 1, 1948, to the late John B. and Jane Chesteen Curd Clines. John is also preceded in death by a brother, Danny Samuel Clines.
John is survived by his loving wife, Linda Carol Thornberry Clines; two sons, John Daniel Clines, Gregory Brandon (Shellie) Clines; his only grandchild, Kamryn Clines; one brother, Donald Patrick (Elfriede) Clines; one sister, Wilma Sue Clines (Rocky) Moore; and a sister-in-law, Pam Clines.
John loved to spend time farming, fishing, and enjoyed being at church. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, who will miss him every day.
A visitation was held for family and friends to pay respects to John and his family from 4:00 P.M until 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Ware Funeral Home. A service was led by Pastor John Chamberlin and will begin at 6:00 P.M. View and sign the guest book at www.warefuneralhome.com.
Johnny and I were good friends since the 1st grade at Little Rock Elementary School. Then 4 years at Bourbon County High School. We rode together for a while working at IBM in Lexington until we joined the Army in March 11th 1968 in , the Buddy program. We went to Basic in Fort Knox then we were stationed at Ft Monmouth New Jersey, it was a signal school. After that he was sent to Okinawa and I was sent to S. Korea. I remember him getting his Red 1967 Mustang.
He was a good friend all that time. I had seen him only once since then at a High School reunion in Paris. I remember
in Basic training when we got our first hair cut. Lots of fun together. I will remember always.
