Kenneth Lawrence Breunig, Sr.

Kenneth Lawrence Breunig, Sr., age 88, of Paris, KY passed away Tuesday, September 22, in Springfield, at the home of his son. A native of Louisville, Ken was born on February 25, 1938 to the late Charles Edward Breunig and Angela Gaffney Breunig. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy; a former owner of Burger Queen/Druthers of Paris; a town constable, and a member of the security staff at Rupp Arena and Keeneland. Besides being an avid hunter and outdoorsman, Ken served his community as a Boy Scouts district Leader and as a member of the Kiwanis Club and Disabled American Veterans. Preceding him in death were his first wife, June Jekel Breunig; his second wife, Janet Mitchell Breunig and son Kent Lee Breunig. He is survived by two sons, Michael “Mickey” Breunig of Versailles and Kenneth
“Larry” Breunig of Springfield, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Breunig will be held from 5 to 8 PM on Friday, October 9, at Hinton Turner Funeral Home in Paris. Interment will take place at Camp Nelson National Cemetery at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Hospice chapter of one’s choice or to the Paris Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans.
