Sharon Ann Banta Unseld

Sharon Ann Banta Unseld, 70, of Lexington, formerly of Carlisle, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2026 at Baptist Health-Hamburg.
Born June 25, 1956 in Carlisle to the late Roger Harold and Helen Duncan Banta, she earned her degree from the University of Kentucky and went on to become a registered nurse, dedicating many years of her life to caring for others in the Lexington area. She was also a small business owner and PTA volunteer. One of her greatest joys was traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and family, whom she dearly loved.
Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Bill R. Unseld; three children: Brian (Kara) Minton, Chris (Jeannie) Unseld and Andrea (Chad) Wombles; a brother, Tim (Kathy) Banta; and her seven beloved grandchildren, William M. Unseld, Caleb Wombles, Emilie Unseld, Savannah Wombles, Kye Minton, Olivia Faulkner, and Sidney Faulkner, as well as many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved pet, Spike, who held a special place in her heart.
Also preceding her in death was a brother, Roger Allen Banta.
Graveside services will be on 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 13th in the Carlisle Cemetery Chapel.
