Mary Marie Carpenter Jones
Mary Marie Carpenter Jones, a beacon of faith and a cornerstone of love, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025, at the age of 93. Born in Stepstone, KY on May 15, 1931, to the late Oliver Everett Carpenter and Emma Lee Johnson Carpenter, Mary led a life marked by generosity and kindness.
Mary spent her career at Hansley Mills, where for 30 years, she dedicated herself with loyalty and hard work before retiring with the respect and friendship of her co-workers. Her commitment to her work was only surpassed by the devout love for her family, her beloved First Church of God in Paris, KY, and her joy in cooking and crafting cherished family memories.
Survived by her two loving children, Connie Kerby and Michael Jones, Mary was a nurturing mother whose legacy continued through her grandson Jamie Kerby and his wife Sarah, and her treasured great-grandson Lucas. Her role as a matriarch extended warmly to several nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom felt the touch of her unwavering support and affection.
Preceded in death by her dedicated husband, Walter V. Jones, Jr., her sisters Phyllis Grant, Eunice McConnell, Sue Shreve, and her son-in-law Don Kerby, Mary now joins them in peace and in the promise of faith she so dearly held.
Mary’s life was a testament to her faith-filled spirit, her generous heart, and her loving nature.
