Paris Rotary Club announces annual scholarships

The Paris Rotary Club is pleased to announce its annual sponsorship of the E.K. Rice Scholarship and Technical Scholarship for 2026. These scholarships provide merit-based financial assistance to encourage students to continue their education beyond high school. Both scholarships are available to high school seniors from Paris High School and Bourbon County High School.
The E.K. Rice Scholarship—valued at $4,000 (presented at $1,000 per year for 4 years)—is designed to recognize 1 outstanding graduating student who exhibits excellence in three areas: Academics, Athletics, and Leadership. Candidates must have at least a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale in a college preparatory curriculum.
The Technical Scholarship—valued at $2,000 (presented at $1,000 per year for 2 years)—is designed to recognize 1 outstanding graduating student who desires to attend a technical school rather than a 4-year college program. Candidates must have at least a 2.5 grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale in a college preparatory curriculum.
Awarding of the scholarships will be based on academic merit, application information, and other criteria customarily used in the selection of merit-based scholarship recipients. Applications will be available through the school guidance counselors beginning Friday, March 13, 2026. The deadline to have applications completed and turned back in to the school guidance counselors is noon on Friday, April 17, 2026.
