Dorothy Christine Mullen Harney

Dorothy Christine Mullen Harney, age 79, passed away on Friday, Oct. 30, 2026, at Harrison Memorial Hospital, in Cynthiana. She was born in Paris on March 31, 1947, to the late Beachie and Louise Fuqua Mullen. Dorothy was also preceded in death by two sisters, Addie Sparks and Sarah Mullen.
Dorothy is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 60 years, George Thomas Harney Jr.; a son, George Harney III (Annette); one sister, Marquita Moore; grandchildren, Kelsey Herrington (Ronnie), Caitlin Denton (Jacob); five great grandchildren, Abigail Neal, Kailey Herrington, Carver Herrington, Aspen Denton, Hudson Denton; and her beloved dog, Buddy.
Dorothy cherished her family above all else. She devoted her life to caring for her home, raising her son and helping with the farm. Her love for her family was evident in the care, dedication, and support she gave them throughout her life. She will be missed.
Services for Dorothy will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6 at Ware Funeral Home. Visitation will be held just prior to the service beginning at 11 a.m. Pastor Earl Gross will lead services, and burial will follow in Jacksonville Cemetery.
