Juan Hartsell Gaines, Sr.
Juan Hartsell Gaines, Sr., 69, husband of Vivian Dumphord Gaines, died Thursday November 21, 2019 at his home.
A native of Paris, KY, he was the son of the late James Hartsell and Elmeta Spencer Gaines. He was retired from Lexmark International, Lexington, KY and was currently employed by the United States Post Office. He was a member of the Prodigal’s House, a graduate of Paris High School and EFM (Education for Ministers) and loved to play golf.
In addition to his wife he is survived by four children, LaShawn Gaines, Juan (Shawn) Gaines, Jr.; Cory Dumphord and Juan Dumphord; a bonus daughter, Donzetta Myers Ashford; special nephew, Jazquez Dumphord; eight grandchildren, Elijah Bishop, Tori Dumphord, Jessica Dean, James Dean, Justina Dean, Joenas Dean, Jayla Gaines and Juan Gaines III; three great grandchildren, Audrey Dean, Konor Dean and James Dean, Jr.; one brother, James Bannister and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Bill Gaines and one great grandchild, Dorian Railey.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday November 27, 2019 at the First Christian Church, 911 High St., Paris, KY by Rev. Dr. Morgan Gilkey.
Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Tuesday November 26, 2019 at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home 1120 Main St., Paris, KY.
Burial will be at a later date.
Pallbearers will be Gary Dawson, Ronnie Chenault, Steve Carpenter, Doug Simms, Ronnie Mack and Crit Fisher.
Honorary pallbearers will be Paris High School class of 1968.
