Ada Leona McCarty Planck, 93, widow of the late Brooks Taylor Planck, died Wednesday December 18, 2019 at her home.
A native of Paris, KY, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Katie McCarty McCarty. She was retired from the Paris Police Department having served as the first Meter Maid in Paris and later a dispatcher for the Paris Police Department. She grew up being a member of the Peyton’s Lick Christian Church and teacher of Sunday School classes and later in life she attended Bedford Acres Christian Church. She still had a love for the Levy area and the fond memories they brought her.
She is survived by two children, Kathy (Chuck) Burke and Doug (Anna) Planck; three grandchildren, Danielle Burke, Angela Cerelli and Cindy (Ricky) Plowman; seven great grandchildren, Aiden Taylor Burke, Madilyn Burke, Alyssa Cerelli, Alanna Cerelli, Calip Plowman, Cameron Plowman and Caitlyn Plowman; three great great grandchildren, Analise Cerelli, Ryker Nease and Clara Nease; one brother, Alva (Dean) McCarty; two sisters, Sue (David) Matherly and Margaret Henley; special niece, Serena (Rodney) Brierly and special great niece, April Tipton and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyde McCarty and Gordon McCarty and one sister, Pauline Schow.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday December 21, 2019 at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY by Rev. Carma Brown. Burial will be in the Paris Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM Saturday December 21, 2019 until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Doug Planck, Chuck Burke, Rodney Brierly, Leo Ishmael, Ricky Plowman and James House.
