Bourbon Has Additional Cases: Fiscal Court Meeting April 23, 2020

Bourbon County Health Department Director Andrea Brown

Magistrate Jimmy Mason

Bourbon County Health Department’s Andrea Brown shared with the Bourbon County Fiscal Court that there have been additional positive cases of COVID-19 in Bourbon County putting the total for the county to eight. She also reported on plans to “reopen” the economy, though based on state governmental regulations. She told the court about a new COVID-19 testing site in Lexington which is open to everyone whether or not he or she has symptoms. When the curve starts going down, we could see a spike if folks are not careful, she said. “It’s kind of scary”.

Brown said she had spoken with superintendents of the local schools as they try to figure out a way to celebrate the graduation of their seniors under social distancing guidelines. She added that the Health Department is already thinking about mass vaccinations when that vaccination is available.

Bourbon County Judge Executive Mike Williams told the Fiscal Court reminded folks that tax return deadlines had been delayed to July 15….. and there’s more. Watch the broadcast attached to this site.
