Shirley Wright Bolles, 90, died Thursday, May 14, 2020 at The Willows at Citation Senior Living Center, Lexington, KY.
A native of Orange, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Charles Wright and Florence Sayre Wright. She worked for 22 years at Rutgers University becoming the Director of the Library of Science and Medicine.
Shirley was passionate about horses and books. She bred multiple racehorses including the New Jersey-bred Rumptious, winner of the Salvator Mile Handicap, a Grade III event. She was the past owner of Sherling Farm in Mendham Township, New Jersey.
She is survived by her dearest friend, Diane Van der Veken, a childhood friend, Ann DeLong, along with a cousin and other close friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her aunt, Mabel Sayre.
There will be no services at this time. Burial will be in the Bloomfield Cemetery, Bloomfield, New Jersey.
