John S. Porter
John S. Porter resident of Bourbon Heights nursing home for 11 years entered into his eternal rest on May 30th, 2020.
He was born on March 5th, 1953. He was the son of the late Billy Porter and Hattie Marshall of Paris, KY. He united with First Baptist church at an early age. He was a graduate of Paris High School class of 1971.
John worked at Dura Corp until it closed; after which he worked at Cracker Barrel in Georgetown, KY for several years.
John had a passion for cars and could drive a standard shift at the age of 12. He could tune up a car as well as any professional mechanic.
John had a lot of friends and will be sorely missed by all. He leaves to cherish his memory; a daughter, Evelyn Myers; a stepson, French Myers; sisters, Rosetta (Clyde) Marks, Kim Porter; brother, Larry (Robin) Porter; niece, Stephanie Porter; nephews, Clyde Marks Jr., Timothy Wayne, Artie Myers, Chris Porter, Brandon Porter; 3 grand children and 6 great grand children; Special friends, Peggy Blackburn and son Ricky.
He was preceded in death by a brother, William Robert (Froggie) Strawder
The family would like to express appreciation to Bourbon Heights staff , Dr. N. L. Moore, Hospice of the Bluegrass, DaVita and the church family.
A special thanks to Clyde Marks Sr. and Robin Porter for their devotion, love and kindness shown to Johnny.
A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday , June 6th at 12:30 at the Cedar Heights Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jessie Marshall, Randy Speakes, Richard Davis, James Harris, Roger Fields, Phillip Jones.
