Donald Abbot McClain
Donald Abbott McClain, 91, husband of Nina Carter Wells McClain for 49 years, died Thursday, August 13, 2020 at his home in Paris, KY.
A native of Paris, KY, he was the son of the late Arthur and Ethel Fryman McClain. He was retired from the F&C Railroad and the State Highway Department. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War and a member of the Centerville United Methodist Church.
Donald was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan, loved to fish, hunt and set turtle lines. He spoiled his family especially his wife whom he loved dearly.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Ida Jane (David) Abney; two grandsons, Stanley Ray Buckler, Jr. and Larry Thomas Sexton II; one granddaughter, Tina Renee Martin; two great grandsons, Thomas Hall and Hunter Sexton; five great granddaughters, Katie (Trevor) Booth, Cassandra Sexton, McKenzie Sexton, Haley Sexton and Trish Freeman; two great great granddaughters, Rose Katherine Hall and Madilynn Rae Booth; three nephews, Sonny Moore, Lewis McClain and Danny McClain and one niece, Leisa McClain Tubbs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, William McClain, Stanley “Pete” McClain and Virgil McClain; one sister, Hazel McClain Moore; one son, Donald Andrew McClain; two daughters, Carolyn Sue Craycraft and Elizabeth Ann “Libby” Craycraft and two grandsons, Aaron Preston Feeback Buckler and Steven Ray Hall.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home by Wayne Logan. Burial will be in the Paris Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until the time of service on Saturday, August 15th at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Hall, Hunter Sexton, David Abney, Louis McClain, Danny McClain, Nathan Tubbs and Trevor Booth.
Honorary pallbearers will be all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
