United States Postal Service customers in Millersburg now have a temporary post office in place.
As of Wednesday, Aug. 19, a mobile postal unit is located next to the post office located at 425 Main St. in Millersburg
“The mobile unit will be in place until repairs on the Millersburg Post Office building are complete. The repairs are currently underway, but we do not have a definitive date as to when they will be complete,” said Susan Wright, a strategic communication specialist for the USPS.
Customers can retrieve their PO Box mail at the mobile unit but will still need to travel to either Paris or Carlisle to mail packages.
The mobile unit’s operating hours are Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
Stamps and money orders are available to purchase. Currently, transactions must be paid in cash, but credit and debit cards will soon be accepted.
The Millersburg Post Office has been closed since late July due to damage from a roof leak.
