A fire that begin in the Second Chance Tattoo Gallery downtown caused disruption to traffic in downtown Paris on Tuesday as Main St. had to be closed briefly for firefighters to work the fire. According the Paris Fire Chief Mike Duffy, it was an electrical fire in the rear of the structure and contained in the wall. He said someone called 911 and when the fire department arrived, smoke was coming out of the front door. The department was able to pull the wall covering and extinguish the fire with minimal amount of water. The apartment tenants were evacuated as well and both Vicki’s Hair Design and the tattoo shop had to be closed. By mid afternoon, all the tenants had returned and Vicky’s was reopened. The tattoo shop will be closed temporarily pending repairs.
