Update: Main Street/US 68X project in Bourbon County
Main and High Streets between milepoints 0.00 – 1.789 in Paris
LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 11, 2021) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that this news release serves as an update for the Main Street/US 68X project in downtown Paris. Utility companies continued operations during winter months, and construction resumed in February.
Pavement conditions are being addressed that include both Main, and High Streets for North/South directions in Paris. In addition, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, entrances, and drainage will be improved. The anticipated completion date for the resurfacing and rehabilitation project is Oct. 31, 2021.
Tuesday, May 11 through Sunday, May 30 – currently
Main Street/US 68X
- traffic can flow without lane closures
- there is no middle turn lane
Monday, May 31 through Wednesday, August 18 – 7 a.m. Monday until 7 a.m. Wednesday
Note: the traffic pattern will change beginning Monday, May 31, and continue through mid – August (Wednesday, August 18), or the date when school resumes in Bourbon County
Main Street/US 68X
- the street will become one-way (Eastbound)
- vehicles will be able to travel into town from the Clintonville Road/KY 1678 intersection to the High Street/US 68 intersection
- motorists traveling out of town (Westbound) will be re-routed onto a detour that utilizes 8th Street/US 460 and the Paris Bypass/US 27
All work, and closures are subject to change depending on weather, emergencies, and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
