Betty Ann Mahoney Pfeifer
Betty Ann Mahoney Pfeifer, widow of Walter Edward Pfeifer, Jr., departed this life on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at her home with her family by her side, having attained the age of 71 years. She was born in Lexington, KY, on August 31, 1949, the daughter of the late Chester and Gertrude Anna Courtney Mahoney, was a graduate of Henry Clay High School, retired owner of VanHoose Steak House, a devoted mother and grandmother, and a member of the Catholic Church of the Annunciation. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Pete Mahoney, and Linda Witzel.
Surviving are three daughters, Brandie (Will) Ferguson, Theresa Pfeifer, Mary (Ewart) Turvey; a son, David (Lee Ann) Pfeifer; grandchildren, Taylor Schalk, Trevor Pfeifer, Kylie McHone, Katelyn Pfeifer, Landon Turvey, and Hayes Turvey. Also surviving is a brother, Jimmy (Juanita) Mahoney; a sister-in-law, Rita (Ted) Clark; as well as extended family, Reuben and Dee Turner, and Jamie and Madonna Courtney.
The Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home, with Rev. Daniel Fister officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery with casket bearers being Trevor Pfeifer, Taylor Schalk, Christopher Keller, Will Ferguson, Derek Keltner, Ted Clark, and Ewart Turvey.
Honorary bearers are Reuben Turner and Jamie Courtney.
Visitation will be Monday, evening, July 26, 2021, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home, between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., with Rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m.
