Edna Link Thompson

     Edna Link Thompson, the widow of Bobby L. Thompson, passed away, Friday, July 22, 2022, in Nicholasville, Kentucky.   Edna was born in Jefferson County, Kentucky, on September 16, 1930, the daughter of the late Walter Link, Sr., and Pearl Fletcher Link. She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), served as a deacon, elder, active member of Disciple Women’s Ministries, Tinder-Harris Circle, and a member of the Hanna Sunday School class, and Ewalt Homemakers Club. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Christine Harney, brothers Robert Link, Walter Link Jr., Garnett Link, and James Link

     She is survived by two sons, John (Elaine) Thompson, and Jeff (Lynn) Thompson; a daughter, Linda (Jack) Givens; and her “adopted” son, David Lykins.; five grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Also, surviving are two sisters, Barbara Wilson, and Mary Moore; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

     The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff and residents of Bridgepointe at Ashgrove Woods for their loving care and friendship over the last four years.

     A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2022, officiated by Rev. Jeff Bell and Dr. Henry Hanna. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until the time for the service. It is recommended that masks be worn.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) or Disciple Women’s Ministries Mission Fund, 911 High Street, Paris, Kentucky 40361.
