The book, A Love Story, is being released in Paris with a book signing scheduled at Frames on Main, 6:30 Main St., Paris, August 13, from 11-3. Written by Paul A Gibson Sr., staff writer for the Bourbon County. Citizen, the book offers a unique view of his wife, Wilma Morris Gibson, aka “Willie.”
The story of “Willie” is told through personal events and experiences that illustrate her life from earliest childhood to a marriage just four days short of 65 years before her passing.
The author writes in the Prologue, “When “Willie” died, I couldn’t bear the thought that a tombstone would be her final statement. Our marriage is the story of a 65 year journey sharing a commitment to the future and supported by the love and affections we had for each other that lasted for a lifetime.”
The 200 page book shares experiences with intimate views and insights into the character of a remarkable woman from earliest childhood in Eastern Kentucky to the fulfillment of a career, marriage and family over her 86 years. “Willie” was a woman of immense talents and they were reflected in a life that focused on personal goals and values that were revealed in a lifetime of service to family, friends and community.
