A Love Story….

The book, A Love Story, is being released in Paris with a book signing scheduled at Frames on Main, 6:30 Main St., Paris, August 13, from 11-3. Written by Paul A Gibson Sr., staff writer for the Bourbon County. Citizen, the book offers a unique view of his wife, Wilma Morris Gibson, aka “Willie.”

The story of “Willie” is told through personal events and experiences that illustrate her life from earliest childhood to a marriage just four days short of 65 years before her passing.

The author writes in the Prologue, “When “Willie” died, I couldn’t bear the thought that a tombstone would be her final statement. Our marriage is the story of a 65 year journey sharing a commitment to the future and supported by the love and affections we had for each other that lasted for a lifetime.”

The 200 page book shares experiences with intimate views and insights into the character of a remarkable woman from earliest childhood in Eastern Kentucky to the fulfillment of a career, marriage and family over her 86 years. “Willie” was a woman of immense talents and they were reflected in a life that focused on personal goals and values that were revealed in a lifetime of service to family, friends and community.

This book is not a typical biography but depicted through a lens that offers intimate views of events that shaped her life and influenced all who were fortunate to share in her journey.

Finally, it is a love story for the ages. The account of the marriage for some 65 years is personal and reveals the love and affection shared from earliest beginnings to the last days facing the finality of a progressive disease.

A Love Story is a joyful read complete with pictures, poetry and vignettes that will elicit a smile or a tear as the pages turn.
