Gilbert Wayne Richardson, Sr.

Gilbert Wayne Richardson, Sr., 79, husband of Sandra Dale Woodrum Richardson, died Thursday June 8, 2023, at the Bourbon Community Hospital, Paris, KY.

He was born in Estill County, KY to the late Gilbert and Emmerin McIntosh Richardson.  Wayne was an avid UK Basketball fan and a long-time mechanic for Davis Machine Shop in Paris.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sandra Dale Woodrum Richardson; six children, Teresa Grant, Tonya Crockett, Gilbert Richardson, Jr., Harold (Chastity) Richardson, April (Joshua) King and Cheryl (Scotty) Rugh; fifteen grandchildren, Tasha Grant, Kayla Warren, Jordon Grant, Robert Crockett, Michael Cruz, Cammeron Richardson, Braxton Richardson, Averie Rugh, Michael Highland, Kali Richardson, Amy Hill, Timothy King, Abigail King, Allison King and Michael King; five great grandchildren, Harley Woods, Chase Woods, Tanner Warren, Brantley Warren and Silas King; three brothers, Eddie (Sue) Richardson, Johnny Richardson and Troy (Betty Threadgill) Richardson; three sisters, Ethel Sparks, Pearl (Tommy) Powell and Ora (Earl) Hall and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Vicki Richardson; one brother, Buel Richardson and one sister, Emma King.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday June 14, 2023, at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY by Bro. Earl Hall.  Burial will follow in the Paris Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Tuesday June 14, 2023, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jordan Grant, Michael Highland, Cammeron Richardson, Timothy King, Michael Cruz and Robert Warren.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Crockett, Joshua King, Davis George, Steven George, Jason George and Scotty Rugh.

The funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY.
