Suzanne Madison Davis Mingua

January 15, 1949 – July 7, 2025

Suzanne Madison Davis Mingua, a lifelong resident of Paris, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 7, 2025, in Lexington. She was 76.

Suzy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, teacher, and friend. She is survived by her loving husband, Ricky Mingua; her daughter, Elizabeth Miles Aulick Robertson (Eric); and her cherished grandsons, Rusher Davis Robertson and Miles Ryan Robertson. She is also survived by her sister, Beth Davis Flanagan (Mike); niece, Sherry Hubalik (Ken); nephew, Mike Flanagan; and her beloved Cavapoos, Lulu and Peanut.

Suzy was a proud graduate of Paris High School and the University of Kentucky, where she earned both a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s in speech pathology—her lifelong passion. She began her career at Paris Elementary School, where she poured her heart into helping students succeed, especially those with learning challenges. Her dedication extended beyond the classroom, as she worked closely with families to ensure every child had the support they needed to thrive.

Suzy was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth McIntyre Davis, who passed when Suzy was just 21; her father, Miles Madison Davis; and her nephew, Patrick Flanagan. After the passing of her father, Suzy stepped away from teaching to run the family’s historic Bourbon Steam Laundry and Dry Cleaning, Inc., a local institution dating back to the early 1900s. Known for its horse-and-buggy laundry deliveries, the business served the beautiful horse farm community of Bourbon County with pride.

Suzy later returned to her calling in education, teaching at Bourbon County Preschool until her retirement in 2010. She retired to dedicate her time to being “Mimi.” Her grandsons remained a central joy in her life.

Suzy was known for her quick wit, infectious laugh, and a sense of humor that could light up any room. She had a green thumb that few could match—her home and garden were always full of life and color. Her door was always open, and she loved to entertain, filling her home with warmth, laughter, and the people she loved most.

A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 12.
