Thomas D. Million
Thomas D. Million, Sr., age 94, passed away on June 29 in Paris. He was born on January 11, 1932, in Paris, and lived a long life marked by devotion to family, service to his country, and steady kindness to those who knew him.
He was a United States Marine veteran and carried the values of duty, discipline, and loyalty throughout his life. Thomas retired from Dura-Weaver Corp. in Paris after many years of dedicated work, and he also worked at the Bluegrass Army Depot. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, where he found fellowship and strength in his faith.
Thomas was known as a kind and friendly man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He liked working on cars, mowing lawns, and tending to old clocks, and he took great pride in the care and attention he gave to the things he loved. Above all, he cherished his grandchildren and took great joy in spending time with his family. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and a sense of steadiness to those around him.
He is survived by his daughter, Kay and Lonnie Buckler; two step-daughters, Nancy (Clinton) Allie and Kristy (Jeff) Curtis; nine grandchildren, Deana (Steven) Osborne, Lonnie Thomas “T-Bird” (Bridget) Buckler, Jack Curtis, Ryan Denny, Anastasia (Josh) Johnson, Teresa Sargent, Heather (Chuck) Rankin, Brian Allie and Kim Eitniear; six great-grandchildren, Taylor (Logan) Gross, Jamie (Brent) Crump Buckler, Curtis (Megan) Osborne, Jordan Buckler, Nicole (Alisa) Osborne and Hannah Buckler; three great-great-grandchildren, Astrid Willow Crump, Seraphina Johnson, and Lucy Johnson; one brother, Bobby (Claire) Million; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Pamela Saylor; parents, Frank and Lucille Stewart Million; son, Thomas “Tommy” Million, Jr.; brothers, Logan Million, Frank Million and Mokie Million; and sister, Betty Wallingford.
Thomas D. Million, Sr. will be remembered with love for his gentle spirit, his hardworking nature, and the deep devotion he showed to his family. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and in the family who will continue to honor his memory.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m., Thursday July 2 by Bro. George Clifton at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home Chapel, 1120 Main St., Paris. Burial followed at the Evergreen Memory Gardens, Paris.
Visitation was from 11 a.m., Thursday July 2 until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were his grandsons.
