Bourbon County Schools LPC hosts third forum and meeting at NMES
The Bourbon County Schools Local Planning Committee held a Draft Facility Plan meeting on Wednesday. The meeting included a public forum and directly after, they held a meeting regarding the Draft Facility Plan. One major focus of this public forum was to, “stop the transitional label.” Supporters to keep the school open are asking for the analysis for the draft proposal to be in writing before the Committee makes any further decisions.
During the meeting after the forum, a draft was presented that listed North Middletown Elementary as a “transitional” school instead of “permanent.” A vote was approved at the end of the meeting to send the Draft Facility Plan to the KDE (Kentucky Department of Education) for “notes.” A final decision has not been made regarding the future of the school but supporters of NMES note that it is one step closer to closing the school.
