Lowell Hurst
He retired from Trane Company Lexington. Lowell honorably served his country four years in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was stationed in Japan during his service. He was a member of Bedford Acres Christian Church in Paris, KY.
Lowell enjoyed fishing, bowling, watching sports and old classic movies on TV. He was also a huge UK Wildcats fan. Whether the men or women’s team was playing you could rest assured he was watching the game. Lowell loved his family and was the most easy-going man you would ever meet.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Carolyn Henson Hurst, four brothers, Eugene James, Eueil and John Hurst, an infant daughter, Kathy Lynn Hurst, a son, Lowell Keith Hurst and a grandson, Daniel Hurst.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Hoskins Hurst, sons, Kenny (Kim) Hurst, Phillip Hurst, daughters and stepdaughters, Vicki Hutchison, Ann (Rodney) Gilvin, Robin Bingham and Jamie (Doug) Wilson. He also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, family members and friends.
The family would like to express the utmost thanks to the staff at Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore KY, especially the nursing staff that cared for Lowell over the past year. We are so thankful for the special people that have chosen to care for our special veterans.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main Street, Paris, KY by Marvin Neal. Burial to follow in Paris Cemetery.
Visitation is at 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Rodney Gilvin, Kyle Gilvin, Andrew Blevins, Rob Bingham.
