William David Earlywine

William David Earlywine, a cherished family man, and respected member of his community, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2024, in Millersburg, KY. Born on March 6, 1933, in the quaint town of Hooktown, KY, William’s life was a tapestry of dedication, service, and love that touched many.

William was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 70 years, Allen Francis Riggs Earlywine, his parents, Jesse and Verena Bell Mattox Earlywine, his daughter, Donna Jo Earlywine Flora, his great-grandchild, Liam Cole, and his brothers, Leroy Earlywine and Clark Earlywine. His legacy continues through his son, Jeffrey David Earlywine (Lisa Kaye), his five grandchildren, Jonathan Flora, Stephanie Jo (Ricky) Cole, Christy (Drew) Fuller, Corey (Brandi) Earlywine, and Samantha Jo Wright, along with his fifteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

William proudly served his country as a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. His commitment to excellence continued in his civilian life where he worked as a Logistics Coordinator at the Lexington Bluegrass Army Depot and later as a Maintenance Supervisor at the Stonercreek Country Club. William’s work ethic and leadership were respected by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

A man of faith, William was an active member of the Headquarters Community Church, where he found great solace and joy in fellowship. His involvement in the church was a testament to his belief in service and community.

William was an exceptionally talented woodworker, often found in his basement workshop where he transformed raw materials into beautiful pieces of furniture. His creations were not just objects of utility but also expressions of love, as he generously gifted many of his handcrafted works to family and friends.

Those who knew William would describe him as loving, handy, and kind. He had a gentle spirit and a generous heart, always willing to lend a hand or share a word of encouragement. William’s presence was a source of comfort and strength to those around him, and his absence will be deeply felt.

As we remember William, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with devotion to his loved and cherished ones, commitment to his country, and service to his community. His memory will continue to inspire and guide us, just as his love will forever remain in our hearts.

A visitation and service to honor the life of William David Earlywine was held at the Headquarters Community Church from 11:00 AM Monday July 29, 2024, until the hour of service at the church. The service provided an opportunity for friends, family, and community members to gather in remembrance and celebrate the remarkable life of a man who was truly one of a kind. The service was conducted at 1:00 PM Monday July 29, 2024, by Bro. Vernon Adams, Pastor Ruby Perraut and Pastor Brenda Routt, burial followed in the Millersburg Cemetery with Military Honors.

In his passing, William leaves behind a world that was unquestionably better for his presence. His journey on earth may have concluded, but the stories of his love, kindness, and craftsmanship will continue to be shared, ensuring that his memory will never fade. Rest in peace, William David Earlywine; you have earned your place among the stars.

The pallbearers were Allen Flora, Ricky Cole, Jonathan Flora, Corey Earlywine, Ethan Cole and Matthew Flora.
