Betty Faye Arnold Coburn

Betty Faye Arnold Coburn, widow of Harold Jay Coburn, departed this life on Friday, September 27, 2024, at her home in Paris, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 84 years. Betty was born on August 28, 1940, in Nicholas County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Charles and Ethel Williams Arnold, was a 1959 graduate of Paris High School where she remained a member of her graduating Alumni Group. She was an 80-year active member of First Baptist Church where she and her husband Harold provided Wednesday night and special fellowship meals for many years, as well as being very active in the Prime Timers at church. She and Harold were the owners and operators of Coburn’s Country Kitchen and BAC Upholstery. She also was active in her children’s PTA, was a Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader, and a member of Ruddles Fort Homemakers. She also enjoyed bingo, fishing, camping, and was a proud member of the Paris High School Football Boosters.
Surviving are her sons, Harold “Rusty” (Lynne) Coburn, Jeff (Lucy) Coburn; a daughter, Lori Jane (Lee) Chanslor; grandchildren, Dr. Jessica Chanslor (Wes Fluty), Jonathan (Katelyn) Chanslor, Justin (Dr. Samantha) Carolin, Jacob (Jaylah) Coburn, and Ryan (Kayla) Coburn. Also surviving are four great grandchildren, Marin Chanslor, Patrick Chanslor, Isaac Chanslor, and Katy Coburn.
The funeral service for Betty Faye Arnold Coburn will be at 11:00 a.m. on October 2, 2024, at First Baptist Church with Robert C. Sturgeon officiating. Interment to follow in Paris cemetery with casket bearers being Ryan Coburn, Jacob Coburn, Justin Carolin, Patrick Chanslor, Butch Martin, and John Courtney. Honorary bearers are her loving church family and the Paris High School Class of 1959. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening, October 1, 2024, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church.
