John Wayne Florence

John Wayne Florence, 61, of Garrard County, formerly of Bourbon County, KY, passed away October 8, 2024 at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford, KY. He was born on April 8, 1963 in Bourbon County, KY to the late John Wayne Mosley Florence and Mary Sams Florence.
John enjoyed fishing. His most precious time was spent with family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving is a son, Billy Florence (Rachel) of Lancaster, KY; two daughters, Katrina Wagoner (Andrew) of Harrison County, KY and Mary Gaunce of Bourbon County, KY; his former wife, Bonnie Florence of Louisville; a step son, Terry Newkirk of Louisville; two step daughters, Melissa Martin (Donald) of Harrison County, KY and Tina Lewis (David) Mississippi; four sisters, Mary Wells of Harrison County, KY, Judy Richmond of Harrison County, KY, Martha Harrington of Harrison County, KY, and Linda Robb of Millersburg, KY; two close friends, Buck Flanery and Elizabeth Simpson; Multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren.
John, along with his parents was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Fryman.
Visitation was held Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm at Spurlin Funeral Home.
