Steven Gayle Withrow

Steven Gayle Withrow, age 61, passed away at the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington, KY on Monday, November 11, 2024. He was born in Paris, KY on February 28, 1963, son of the late James E. Withrow and Shirley R. Withrow Clark. Steve was preceded in death by his father, James E. Withrow and his mother, Shirley R. Withrow Clark. He is survived by two brothers, Mark B. Withrow, Mike R. (MaryAnn) Withrow; six nieces and nephews, Katie (Randy) Winegardener, Abbie Withrow, Michael (Kim) Withrow, Erika (Garrett) Chapman, Shriver E. Withrow, Estelle F. Withrow; and six great nieces and nephews, Roman Adkins, Sawyer Winegardener, Bella Chapman, Esther Winegardener, Brewer Chapman, and Hazel Rose Withrow.
Steve was a 1981 graduate of Paris High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was a Medical Corpsman with the Marines. He served in Desert Storm and was a Gulf War veteran, earning Nation Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Sea Service Deployment Ribbons, Fleet Marine Force Ribbon, Kuwait Liberation Medal, and Combat Action Ribbon.
Steve was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching U.K. football, basketball, and the Cincinnati Reds. He was a long time Bourbon Citizen football contest participant and enjoyed keeping up with the local high school sports.
